Our Story

How It All Began

Our story started in 2013 with the founding of Lords & Labradors, a brand built in a kitchen with a sewing machine, a Labrador named Bertie, and a belief that pets deserve better. We saw a gap in the market — where practicality, aesthetics, and comfort for pets weren’t being treated with equal importance. What began as a hands-on passion project soon gained national attention, turning into a benchmark for premium pet bedding and accessories.

Built on Passion for Animals

Our devotion stems from a shared understanding across our teams: pets and animals aren't just companions — they’re family. Whether it’s a dog curled up in a beautifully made bed, or a coral reef delicately balanced in a marine aquarium, we believe in enriching lives — both animal and human — through quality, compassion, and care.

This deep respect for animals and their wellbeing has shaped every decision we make. From the ethical sourcing of marine livestock to the careful craftsmanship behind our dry goods, our operations are built on more than profit — they're built on purpose.

Entering Aquatics — and Evolving

In 2020, we expanded into the marine aquatics sector with the launch of Aqua Group. This wasn’t just a business move — it was a chance to apply our same values of trust, expertise, and premium care to a new and underserved space. We quickly became recognised for our high standards and specialised knowledge, serving customers with marine livestock, equipment, and support they could rely on.

As Aqua Group grew, so did our ambition — leading to the formation of a new umbrella company: Wolds Aqua Group Ltd.

From Aqua to Animal — Broadening Our Mission

In early 2024, a pivotal moment arrived: we acquired Lounging Hound Ltd, a premium pet lifestyle brand known for elegant design and thoughtful function. This acquisition signalled our move beyond aquatics and solidified our broader role within the pet sector.

To reflect this evolution, we rebranded as Wolds Animal Group Ltd — a name that better represents our mission to serve every corner of the animal world with trust, transparency, and quality at scale.
